ayyy I’m finally opening commissions for the first time ever!

I’m opening commissions in order to save up some money for attending school next year and/or if any emergency in the future arises since I’m currently taking a year off and living with my parents.

I’ll only accept payments through paypal. Also, suggestive scenarios/R18 will be discussed.

♡ More Examples Here

If you’re interested or want something specific that is not listed, contact me at the e-mail listed OR send me a message through tumblr for details. However, given how often tumblr eats messages, an e-mail is probably a safer bet.

Thank you! ( ´◔‿ゝ◔`)

10 Photos from Ferguson that won’t make it to the mainstream media.

A community in unity. These photos are via Twitter from a Journalist named Ryan Schuessler (@RyanSchuessler1) who unlike some journalists/reporters, chooses to focus on the activities truly going on right now. He’s not focusing on how much of a “hell-hole” some of them are reporting it to supposedly be. But a community of people who are just seeking Justice For Michael BrownIf you can look at these photos and still buy into the mainsteam media’s game, or feel sorry for the police here in the slightest bit - you’re not paying attention.

The anger and actions of the people in Ferguson are justified. They’re citizens who are outraged by the corruption of the justice system and by the fact these police forces are allowed to gas them and shoot into crowds of innocent civilians, whenever they’re rallying in a peaceful protest that the media refuses to expose. They’ll try to turn it around on these people as often as possible.

For those of us who are, and have been paying attention to what’s going on - to the people of Ferguson, hat’s off to you for standing up. Know there are people who know the truth and aren’t listening to what news sources like CNN, FoxNews and NBC are distorting the information into.

DO NOT FALL INTO THE ILLUSIONS AND DISTORTIONS OF THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA ABOUT THE EVENTS IN FERGUSON. DO NOT FALL PREY TO THEIR GAME.

THESE PEOPLE ARE STANDING AGAINST A CORRUPT POLICE FORCE THAT GOT CAUGHT UP IN THEIR OWN LIES. DO NOT JUST FALL INTO THE STORIES OF TEAR GAS, RUBBER BULLETS, RIOTS, and LOOTERS. THERE ARE EVENTS GOING ON FROM PEACEFUL PROTESTERS WHO ARE STANDING FOR JUSTICE.

Hi Polly! A while back you were giving some industry advice and I wanted to ask a couple of questions. Do you know how detailed professional storyboards are supposed to be? Because the boards I did for college might have been too scribbly since they were mostly for myself, and I was thinking of polishing them before putting them in my portfolio. 2, I'm from Uruguay and since the industry here is so small, you have to be able to do a bit of everything to have better chances of finding work (1/2)

pollums:

work, but from what I’ve seen in the american industry, it looks like people there are much more specialised, is that right? If I want to find work there, would it be better to pick what I like best and work harder on that, rather than trying to cover all the bases? Maybe pick two or three things? Thank you! The advice you’ve given so far has been very insightful. (2/2)

Thank you!! it’s true! the US has a large and varied industry w a lot of talent so specialization becomes some people’s greatest selling point.

The level of detail for a storyboard depends a LOT on what the storyboard is for, who you’re presenting the board to (usually if you present to ppl who are not artists, you have less leeway with style and presentation), and who will actually end up using the storyboard (in house animation or productions = more leeway bc you can communicate directly to whoever uses the storyboard. overseas or subcontracted animation means the board is going to be passed around a LOT and ideas need to be communicated EXTREMELY clearly in storyboard, down to each background and individual pose the characters take, etc.)

So try to figure out what kind of storyboarding jobs you’re aiming for, and then look for portfolios and storyboards of people working at those jobs and reference those for your own portfolio.

Some examples of professional storyboards you can reference for level of detail:

Let us be vividly clear about this.

What the New York Times did to Michael Brown today was not merely slander. It wasn’t a case of a lack of journalistic integrity.

Highlighting that a black teenager was “no angel” on the day he is being laid to rest after being hunted and killed by racist vigilante forces is not an unfortunate coincidence.

The New York Times deliberately played into an archaic American tradition in devaluing both the merit of black life and the tragedy of black death.

They chose the day of his funeral, as his family, friends and activists everywhere have to grapple with a human being lost to pontificate about how he was “no angel”. Michael Brown was many things to many people; a son, a brother, a cousin, a nephew and another black causality of murderous police institutions and today, amidst all the racist violence he, his loved ones and community have had to endure, he was going to finally receive the respect and moment of honor he deserved and NYT decided today, of all days, to tune in their audience onto wholly irrelevant facts about his life - that in turn, transform the very injustice surrounding his death and the following police violence that plagued Ferguson into a national panel about whether or not his death is actually worth mourning and their language suggested that to them, it indeed is not.

This was hardly an accident or mistake. This is the perpetual hostility that is met against black life in America. The consensus is that black people deserve no respect and for black life to be legitimized and honored, we must meet a list of prerequisites. Subsequently, if black people aren’t valued, neither are our deaths understood as tragic or murders seen as criminal action.

This has been the atmosphere of America since its inception and much has not improved.
